DON'T GET MAD NOW BECAUSE DON'T GET MAD JUST MIGHT MAKE MAD DASH TO BELMONT

The 2005 Belmont Stakes, which will be held on June 11 in the city that never sleeps, New York City, are just a couple of weeks away. With the third leg of the race approaching, one fallen horse contender from the 2005 Kentucky Derby is bidding his way for a mad comeback for the Belmont Stakes.

Don't Get Mad.

Trainer, Ron Ellis, said that Don't Get Mad remains a probable starter for the coming 2005 Belmont Stakes. Ellis also said that Don't Get Mad, owned by B. Wayne Hughes, will more likely run for the $200,000 Northern Dancer Handicap on the Stephen Foster undercard on June 18 at Churchill next.

'The Belmont would have been a bigger consideration if we didn't have this problem with the quarantine,' said Ellis. 'Making the Belmont probably isn't feasible, but we'll see what happens over the next week and a half or so.'

Ellis said he would not be available for the Thursday workout but he will most probably go to Kentucky for the colt's next workout.

'Thursday will be something easy, something like a half in 50 (seconds),' Ellis said.

The 2005 Belmont Stakes is shaping up to be one heck of a horse battle. The race for the Triple Crown may be over but the excitement enveloping the Belmont Stakes in New York City still fills the horse racing world.
