REDEMPTION: WHO WILL WIN THE 2005 BELMONT STAKES?

The 2005 Belmont Stakes, which will be held on June 11 in the city that never sleeps, New York City, is on its way to conclude this year's race for the Triple Crown title. The said title is something that can be considered as horse racing's Holy Grail and it saw two closely contested wars in the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes.

With two legs of the race for the Triple Crown done, it all comes down to New York City for the conclusion of this three-race horse war. The 2005 Belmont Stakes is just around the corner, get your betting propositions ready.

Giacomo, being the winner of the 2005 Kentucky Derby, the first leg of the race for the Triple Crown, lost the recently held 2005 Preakness Stakes in Pimlico to none other than Preakness favorite Afleet Alex.

Afleet Alex overcame what could have been a disastrous outing to win the Preakness war. The Preakness favorite was gunning for the leading contender when Scrappy T cut him off. And then it happened, as if Afleet Alex was irritated by the left-handed whipping of Ramon Dominguez, Afleet Alex stumbled and almost took away jockey, Jeremy Rose's balance from his seat.

Overcoming adversity, Afleet Alex and his 26-year old jockey regained their composure, recovered their balance, and zoomed past Scrappy T to win the battle in Pimlico. Scrappy T finished just right behind them with Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo, despite being denied of the Triple Crown, finishing third fastest.

It was Afleet Alex, the favorite to win this leg, came out on top in the legendary Pimlico Race Course. As a result, horse racing's Holy Grail will remain in limbo this year. That also means that in June 11, the field will all be even as all horse contenders will go out for one single purpose, redemption. All of these horses will zoom out of the gates, determined to come out on top at the 2005 Belmont Stakes in New York City. This year's horse war is heating up, you better get your betting propositions straight.

WHO'S YOUR BET FOR THE 2005 BELMONT STAKES?

That means the Triple Crown, horse racing's Holy Grail, will remain in limbo this year. However, don't expect Giacomo to lose his desire to win, he will surely come out to race the 2005 Belmont Stakes determined to redeem himself from the disappointment at Pimlico.

Giacomo failed to resume his quest for the Triple Crown, horse racing's Holy Grail, when a colt named Afleet Alex overcame disaster and blazed through all contenders to win the second leg of the three-race horse war.

In the end, it was the Preakness Stakes favorite, Afleet Alex, who came out on top in Pimlico, much to the delight of horse racing bettors from all over the world. However, one favorite looms in the horizon and is bidding to make a comeback for the last leg of this year's three-race face-off in the horse racing world.

A colt named Bellamy Road.

Bellamy Road was the favorite to win this year's Kentucky Derby only to finish to a solid but rather disappointing 7th place finish. Bellamy Road went down at the Kentucky Derby and boy, did he fell down hard, resulting in a no-show at the second leg of the race for the Triple Crown. However, there are reports that claim Bellamy Road could be back in training in the next three to four weeks. Edward Sexton, the man running Steinbrenner's Kinsman Farm in Ocala, Fla., said that the popped splint in Bellamy Road's left front leg was a very minute injury.

Moreover, with the third leg of the race approaching, another contender, this time a fallen horse from the 2005 Kentucky Derby, is bidding his way for a mad comeback for the Belmont Stakes. Don't Get Mad.

Trainer, Ron Ellis, said that Don't Get Mad remains a probable starter for the coming 2005 Belmont Stakes. Ellis also said that Don't Get Mad, owned by B. Wayne Hughes, will more likely run for the $200,000 Northern Dancer Handicap on the Stephen Foster undercard on June 18 at Churchill next.

Aside from the said contenders, there are also the three newcomers that made their respective debuts at the Preakness that could join in the fray for the Belmont Stakes. Hal's Image, a winner of the Unbridled Stakes, Scrappy T, the contender who almost caused Afleet Alex the Preakness Stakes war and also the winner of the Withers and lastly, Tesio Stakes winner, Malibu Moonshine.

We all saw it at the 2005 Kentucky Derby, virtual unknowns are favorites and favorites become virtual unknowns once the horse war is over. In the 2005 Preakness Stakes, we saw the favorite almost came that close from becoming a disaster. At the 2005 Belmont Stakes, we could see the unexpected again. Whatever happens, only one thing is certain, only one horse will emerge victorious and the rest of the pack will go home as losers.

DON'T GET MAD NOW BECAUSE DON'T GET MAD JUST MIGHT MAKE MAD DASH TO BELMONT

The 2005 Belmont Stakes, which will be held on June 11 in the city that never sleeps, New York City, are just a couple of weeks away. With the third leg of the race approaching, one fallen horse contender from the 2005 Kentucky Derby is bidding his way for a mad comeback for the Belmont Stakes.

'The Belmont would have been a bigger consideration if we didn't have this problem with the quarantine,' said Ellis. 'Making the Belmont probably isn't feasible, but we'll see what happens over the next week and a half or so.'

Ellis said he would not be available for the Thursday workout but he will most probably go to Kentucky for the colt's next workout.

'Thursday will be something easy, something like a half in 50 (seconds),' Ellis said.

The 2005 Belmont Stakes is shaping up to be one heck of a horse battle. The race for the Triple Crown may be over but the excitement enveloping the Belmont Stakes in New York City still fills the horse racing world.

WILL THE 2005 BELMONT STAKES PASS THROUGH A BELLAMY ROAD?

The 2005 Belmont Stakes, which will be held on June 11 in the city that never sleeps, New York City, is on its way to conclude this year's race for the Triple Crown.

Giacomo failed to resume his quest for the Triple Crown, horse racing's Holy Grail, when a colt named Afleet Alex overcame disaster and blazed through all contenders to win the second leg of the three-race horse war.

“He'll be back in full training in three to four weeks,” Sexton proclaimed. “The Belmont is looking doubtful, but we'll just have to see what happens.”

This could be a bitter-sweet statement. However, this developments mean only one thing for the remaining contenders, the 2005 Belmont Stakes is shaping up to be one heck of a ride.

2005 BELMONT STAKES: WHO WILL WIN THE LAST LEG?

The 2005 Belmont Stakes, which will be held on June 11 in the city that never sleeps, New York City, is on its way to conclude this year's race for the Triple Crown.

As of press time, the 2005 Preakness Stakes is still revving up its engine for the coming horse war on the 21st of May. The question still remains: Can Giacomo win the 130th Preakness Stakes and go for the Triple Crown title in Belmont? Or will a new horse contender step-up and stop Giacomo on his tracks? Who will win the Belmont Stakes, the oldest horse war from the three-race series, and end this year's Triple Crown race on a high note?

All these questions would have to wait.

For the meantime, we can take a look at some of the best horse contenders in the country that just might probably be tapped to lock horns against each other when the 2005 Belmont Stakes kick off in June.

Giacomo, if he wins the Preakness Stakes, will surely be ready to go for broke at the Belmont Stakes and bid for this year's Triple Crown title. The Triple Crown can might as well be horse racing's Holy Grail.

In 125 years of horse racing's three-race series wars, only eleven Thoroughbreds have captured horse racing's proverbial Holy Grail. At the Belmont Stakes, depending on Giacomo's finish at Preakness, the said colt would have a chance to be no.12 of horse racing's Triple Crown winners.

Bellamy Road, the favorite to win the recently held Kentucky Derby only to finish in an unlucky 7th, is rumored to miss the upcoming Preakness Stakes. Bellamy Road is still a strong contender and if he becomes ready before June, we would certainly see the colt galloping in New York for the Belmont Stakes.

Aside from the said contenders, there are also three newcomers that could join in the fray for the Belmont Stakes, depending on their performance at the upcoming Preakness wars. Hal's Image, a winner of the Unbridled Stakes, Scrappy T, a winner of the Withers and Tesio Stakes winner, Malibu Moonshine.

We all saw it at the 2005 Kentucky Derby, virtual unknowns are favorites and favorites become virtual unknowns once the horse war is over. At the 2005 Belmont Stakes, we could see this little theory be proven again or see it destroyed by Giacomo. Whatever happens, only one thing is certain, only one horse will emerge victorious and the rest of the pack will go home as losers.
